GSES Solar Power Systems Fundamentals Short Course
The GSES Solar Power System Fundamentals online short course is a comprehensive introduction to grid-connect solar photovoltaic (PV) electric systems for homeowners, trades people and anyone wishing to gain a sound fundamental understanding of PV systems. This course provides a structured approach to studying the essentials of solar PV systems.
The course is presented in topics starting with how solar systems work, progressing on to the design, costs and installation of a solar system, and finally discussing post-installation safety, operation and maintenance. This course also provides information on grid-connected PV systems using battery storage, in response to market interest in the use of storage for solar PV systems.
Delivery Mode: Delivery is online comprising theory, and short quizzes at the end of each topic.
Duration: This online course is self-paced. We estimate it may take approximately 20 hours to complete, however this can vary. Course access is valid for 12 months.
Assumed Knowledge: There is no assumed knowledge for this course.
Required Materials: A computer, laptop, tablet, or phone with reliable internet access.
Outcome of Successful Completion: Students will receive a GSES certificate of completion stating they have completed the Solar Power System Fundamentals course. Upon completion, CEC (Clean Energy Council) accredited designers/installers will be eligible for 30 CPD points.
Cancellations and Refunds: A full refund is available within 14 days of purchase, on the condition that the student/s have not yet logged into the student portal. Due to the online nature of the course, no refunds are possible once the course has been accessed on the student portal.
