For the first time BayWa r.e., global renewable energy developer, service provider and wholesaler, received the Top PV Wholesale Supplier Award for its business activities in Australia.
A mere two and a half years after entering the market, the company was given one of the most important industry awards, which attests to the fact that BayWa r.e. achieved an increasingly important position in the Australian module distribution market as well as high customer satisfaction ratings. The award is based on a survey among installers conducted by the European market and opinion research institute EuPD Research.
“We are very proud to have been awarded the Top PV Wholesale Supplier seal for the first time. This distinction confirms our outstanding performance in the Australian market which we achieved by supplying local solar installers with premium solar components and offering them high-quality customer service”, explains Durmus Yildiz, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Solar Systems Pty.
BayWa r.e. operates in a total of seven locations in Australia and supports PV installers in delivering solar plants all across the country. For this purpose, a team of product and technical experts with a combined experience in the industry of over 60 years closely cooperates with leading industry suppliers.
Durmus Yildiz adds: “By expanding our business activities in the growing Australian market and by providing our partners with the right tools and products, we not only act in line with our conviction that solar installation companies are the backbone of a healthy solar wholesale industry, but also play an important role in actively shaping Australia’s solar energy revolution.”
In addition to PV trade, BayWa r.e.’s project business is also on the rise in Australia: Most recently, BayWa r.e. completed the 664-acre 112 MW solar farm Karadoc: the plant features 330,000 photovoltaic cells that generate enough power to supply 65,000 Australian homes. One of Karadoc’s largest customers is Australia’s leading brewing company, Carlton & United Breweries (CUB), which recently signed a 12-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with BayWa r.e. The PPA provides for 74,000 MWh a year and takes CUB one step closer to sourcing 100 percent of its electricity from renewable energy.
Besides the seal for the Australian market, BayWa r.e. has also been awarded a prize for its PV wholesale activities in Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Due to its outstanding performance in the European market, the company also received the seal “Top PV Wholesale Supplier Europe” for the second time in its history.
The seal has been awarded annually since 2010 in the categories modules, inverters, storage technology and wholesale based on a worldwide satisfaction survey amongst PV installers and end customers. In addition to the portfolio range and quantity, EuPD Research also examined aspects such as the customer retention rate. The TOP PV Wholesale Supplier award therefore is an independent quality attribute for companies that can boast a particularly high customer satisfaction score.
